OUT NOW FROM CHOUETTE

ANDRZEJ KORZYNSKI - SECRET ENIGMA - FINDERS KEEPERS

22 rare and unreleased vintage tracks from the secret vaults of one of the most enigmatic composers in 60s/70s/80s European cinema, Andrzej Korzynski. Originally recorded in the best studios in Poland, Italy and France for experimental film, political allegories, lost television shows, sound libraries and radio - these tracks have been hidden behind the Iron Curtain on lost master tapes and film reels until now! Secret Enigma is the first ever dedicated anthology of this great composer's work.

Listening to Secret Enimga, one can get a sense of the breadth of Korzyński’s work.  The compilation contains a dizzing array of style and compositions – from the Blaxploitation funk of “La Grabuge (Pop Theme)” to the electronic noise blasts of “Trying to Catch a Fly.”  In between you have the likes of mind-blowing jazz/symphonic punch “Agent No. 1,” bizarro-world Bond themes “Tajemnica Enigmy,” and “W Insyucie,” and the wistful beauty of “Losy OST (Mid-Guitar Theme),” not to mention many more.  It’s a shame that the material has been kept underwraps or forgotten about for so long (partly due to the Cold War’s “Iron Curtain”) but thankfully the time has finally come for Korzynski to once again be unleashed on the world.   http://www.reviler.org/2012/11/16/flashback-friday-andrzej-korzynski/

MAN CHEST HAIR - V/A - FINDERS KEEPERS -GFAs
Unissued studio demos and rare tracks of hard rock, hairy funk, heavy, prog from the toughest unknown rock groups of Greater Manchester, England MAN CHEST HAIR liberates 17 heroic outbursts of rare and unreleased Northern testosterone from Mancunian pops awkward coming of age purple period. The hairy funk and hard rock foundations of Manc punk and metal laid down by the self-sufficient post-beat unsignables. MAN CHEST HAIR documents the missing stink between The Hollies, The Hermits, Hamburg, Hannett and Hotlegs with a HEAVY emphasis on dirty drums and filthy fuzz from beneath the black rainclouds of Greater Manchester. Ahead of their time, under the radar and over the heads of the trembling music industry these glorious live action trailblazers crank the ignition of the eclectic Mancunian metal machine, engines blazing between 10cc and full throttle Motorheads

DIABLOS DEL RITMO - THE COLOMBIAM MELTING POT 1960-1985 - ANALOG AFRICA

Over five years of crate-digging expeditions to Colombia’s Caribbean coast, Analog Africa collected thousands of records before cherry picking the 32 vibrant tracks collected here. The first disc features afrofunk and psychedelia-inspired tunes, while disc 2 is filled with danceable tropical beats. For fans of Cumbia or Afrobeat, this is a great exploration further into the music of 70s Colombia, and for fans of colourful world music in general this is well worth a listen.http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/arts-entertainment/music-review-diablos-del-ritmo-the-colombian-melting-pot-1960-1985-316022.html

This is another one of those indispensable compilations where you can only marvel at the heroic dedication of the man who put it together. Samy Ben Redjeb collected literally thousands of tracks, mainly from the 1970s, from which these 32 funky nuggets were plucked. Afrobeat, psychedelia, American funk, rock'*'roll – as well as the core rhythms of Nigeria, the Congo and Cuba – are all stirred into the spicy pot. Retro collection of the year. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/reviews/album-various-artists-diablo
