like a phoenix from the ashes: pomegranates record release party

Like A Phoenix From The Ashes: Pomegranates Record Release Party
Sunday March 28th
On Sunday March 28th, Cinema Family in Los Angeles will be hosting Like A Phoenix From The Ashes: Pomegranates Record Release Party.
Cinefamily, an organization of movie lovers devoted to finding and presenting interesting and unusual programs of exceptional, distinctive, weird and wonderful films -- is hosting the release of Pomegranates, a collection of vintage Persian folk, funk, and psychedelia on the Finders Keepers record label. The party will also be celebrating Norooz, the Persian New Year! This spring-equinox-special will boast a psychedelic visual feast of ultra-rare vintage film and un-earthed music video pastiche from 60s/70s Iran, collaged and directed by Cinefamily's Tom Fitzgerald, and soundtracked with an exclusive Middle Eastern mash-up mix created by B-Music/Finders Keepers founder Andy Votel. "Pomegranates" curators Arash Saedinia and Mahssa Taghinia will be DJing before and after the screening. Amidst the protests, violence, and politically charged situation within Iran, currently, we are excited to present a positive celebration that is socially and culturally relevant and informative, within Los Angeles. Co-presented by B-Music/Finders Keepers, Dublab, and Amoeba Music Sunday March 28 8pm Tickets $10 Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/event.php?eid=379767185836 Cinema Family: http://www.cinefamily.org/calendar/events.html
